1  /  I can't get over these homemade pop tart messages! As if pop tarts weren't awesome enough already...

2  /  More pop tarts! This time, they're helping chart calorie intake in Ryan MacEachern's Design x Food project.

3  /  It's Tea Week at Brit + Co, and these sweet little tea cakes look adorable and delicious...

4  /  This Pantone spread is absolutely stunning -- and now I'm jealous of a little girl's birthday party!

5  /  And rounding out my insatiable sweet tooth this week... fruity ice cubes via Oh Joy! At least these are healthy!

link list no.10

1  /  Allyssa of The Barn has a great series on branding your blog -- in fact, it's so good that I'm starting to consider a rebranding project!

2  /  It's official, photographer Emil Nystrom takes the most awesome baby photos ever. His daughter has been a painter, car mechanic, and even a fruit ninja!

3  /  I can't stop staring at Fricote's fun, vibrant, and quirky covers! They speak so well for themselves, it doesn't even matter that I barely remember anything from French 101...

4  /  You've probably already seen Paul Octavious's Pantone Project, but it really is so brilliant that I couldn't resist including it in this week's links.

5  /  With a pile of comfy pillows and windows to die for, this is quite possibly the greatest reading nook I've ever come across! (Real source, anyone?)

moodboard | food as art

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Here's a peek at some of the inspiration behind a project I've been cooking up (pun definitely intended). It obviously has a lot to do with food, but more specifically, it's a look at the intersection of food and art. As you can see from the images above, it's definitely a subject that is handled frequently (and very skillfully), but I wanted to put my personal spin on it. This is turning out to be a big project, so you might not hear much more about it for a while -- in the meantime, enjoy the moodboard :)

just pinned | 9

Honestly, it amazes me that, each week, I manage to (subconsciously) pin around some sort of unifying theme(s). Take, for example, the gorgeous fruity pastels in the middle row above, or the different (yet equally interesting) staircases in the bottom row. Of course, I have plenty of random things thrown in, too, but I really love looking back over the past week's pins and seeing what has really caught my eye. I think it's actually really helping me focus in on my aesthetic choices, my stylistic preferences, etc.
