moodboard | wild & free

I've been working on a fun little project recently and thought I'd share a sneak peek before I show you the finished product next week. I definitely wanted to capture the idea of embracing and enjoying life, and as you can probably see, I went for a very bright, colorful, and somewhat earthy effect (which hopefully translates both literally and figuratively in the project). Hand-lettering also plays an important role -- always a favorite for me!

style | fresh mint

When I spotted this adorable striped clutch, I immediately thought of my post from yesterday. Sure, the colors aren't exact, but it really does embody that feeling of freshness I had in mind when putting the moodboard together. I knew right away that I wanted to dream up an outfit to go with the clutch, and I ended up drawing from its pretty pastel hues. This would make a delightful spring outfit, don't you think?

I mentioned last week that I wasn't particularly interested in Easter-y color palettes, but it looks like things have changed! With the (theoretical) arrival of spring and with everyone's favorite bunny-centric holiday quickly approaching, even I've been drawn into pretty pastels, soft blush tones, and basically all things light and airy. I'm really excited to start focusing more on color -- with my beloved neutrals mixed in, of course!

I have this theory that I'm much more productive when I can enjoy the sunshine, and the past couple of weeks of (on-and-off) nice weather have proven me right. I've been working on some fun projects that I look forward to sharing with you in the next couple of months (follow me on Instagram for some sneak peeks!), Also, I also have some new things in the works for the blog, so stay tuned for updates :)

wear | florals for spring

The other day, I spied a pair of pastel pink jeans at TJ Maxx, and I've been dreaming up outfit ideas ever since. I love the idea of pink pants for an easy dose of femininity (especially in the spring!), and as far as I'm concerned, they can be pretty versatile, too. A white t-shirt would be fantastic for an easy weekend outfit, while a bright neon blouse might be great for a girls' night. For every day, I love this mix of pretty florals and other soft colors. (Of course, now I can't get this out of my mind!)

Honestly, it amazes me that, each week, I manage to (subconsciously) pin around some sort of unifying theme(s). Take, for example, the gorgeous fruity pastels in the middle row above, or the different (yet equally interesting) staircases in the bottom row. Of course, I have plenty of random things thrown in, too, but I really love looking back over the past week's pins and seeing what has really caught my eye. I think it's actually really helping me focus in on my aesthetic choices, my stylistic preferences, etc.

wear | pretty in pink

THREE | Barry M Lip Paint | $8

I know that red and pink are pretty much completely overdone for Valentine's Day, but I'm a romantic at heart and I just couldn't resist putting together a cute date night outfit inspired by this lovey-dovey color palette. And besides, it's all about finding the right combination of hues (I, for one, really love mixing bold red and soft, pastel pink). So, if you're like me and can't resist an over-the-top-girly outfit -- enjoy!
