Nothing says summer quite like a music festival -- and since I've had summer on my mind, I thought it'd be fun to share some memories from one of the best days of music I've ever experienced. These photos are from day 2 of Outside Lands 2011, and I take great pride in 1) how close my friend and I got to the stage, and 2) the fact that we stayed there upwards of 8 hours so we could keep our spot.
I definitely don't consider myself a photographer (it's more of a hobby than anything else), but I will say that I absolutely love working with film. I have a Polaroid, a Holga, and an old school Pentax, and I've played around with them quite a bit over the past few years.
There's a certain mix of authenticity and nostalgia that you can only get from film, which is one of the main reasons why I love it so much. (In all honesty, I think I prefer it over digital!) And as much as I love bright colors, I think the slightly hazy quality of these photos really captures that lazy, carefree feeling of summer.

To this day, these black-and-white concert shots are still some of my absolute favorites, featuring (from top to bottom): Macklemore, OK Go, Arctic Monkeys, and The Black Keys!
