Since I've got summer and traveling on my mind, I figured now would be a good time to start thinking about what I want to pack -- because, you know, I only have 6 weeks to figure it out! And not to brag, but I really know my stuff when it comes to packing light. After studying abroad in Italy, going on all sorts of weekend trips while there, and generally living out of a suitcase for several months, I've pretty much got it down. I'm sure you've seen it before and I'm sure you get the concept, but the key really is to focus on multipurpose items.

Take this sunny yellow dress, for example. It's simple and comfortable enough to throw on for an easy day of sightseeing, but it's got enough personality to work for a night out, too. Right away I've created two distinct outfits, and all it took was an accessories swap. Just imagine how much suitcase space you can save!
