I make a card for my mom pretty much every Mother's Day -- I love how much more personal it is when you have to plan out and create the whole thing on your own. This year, my mom's been mentioning how much she'd love to have sunflowers in the backyard, so I decided it'd be the perfect theme for her card. As I've probably mentioned before, I really love working with paper. It's surprisingly versatile and beyond the obvious colors and shapes, it can provide really interesting textures and layering effects. All it took was a simple light fold for my petals to become three dimensional!5.09.2013
