snapshots | from my 23rd year

One thing I love about having a January birthday is that I can always use it as a second chance for a fresh start. I've been doing pretty well with my 2013 resolutions so far, but turning one year older is just the kick in the pants I need to be extra-motivated in working toward my goals this year. And as much as I'm looking forward to my 24th year, I thought it'd be nice to take a look back (via Instagram) at some of 23's greatest hits.

1. I've been to a good deal of concerts in my time, but two of my favorite shows happened this past year: Fun. and The Naked and Famous. At the Fun. concert, they ended the night by showering us with balloons and confetti!

2. At 23, I made the decision to go back to school and really, truly, finally discovered what it was I wanted to do with my life (graphic design!). This also meant I got to take a drawing class and practice my (apparently awesome) blind contour sketching.

3. I also decided to take on running last year -- not something I thought I'd get very far with, considering the 1/2-mile shuffles I started out with. But back in September, I ran my first official 5k in 31:43!

4. And finally, this holiday season was one of my most successful in terms of gift-giving. I handmade nearly all of the presents I gave out (thank you, Pinterest) -- though not the adorable doggie raincoat pictured above (for that, I have to thank Old Navy!).

Here's hoping 24 will also be full of fun adventures and memorable accomplishments! :)
